Finger Movement Based Cursor Control System

Abstract

This paper proposes a cursor control system, using finger movement captured from a camera using color detection technique. There is no provision to extend limit in a wired mouse, similarly wireless mouse also needs some Bluetooth hardware installed in the computer. To make the object detection easy and fast, a color pointer has been used. Marking the user?s fingertip with red, yellow, green and blue color band helps the camera to recognize the cursor movement. In this, the camera acts as a digital eye. The main motive was to create this technology in the cheapest possible method. This system could also be used for assisting the disabled person. This system might also be used to provide an easy control over machineries in the industry.
