A term created by two researchers ? Peter Salavoy and John Mayerand popularized by Dan Goleman They define EI or EQ as the ability to: 1. Recognize, understand and manage our own emotions 2. Recognize, understand and influence the emotions of others That describes: -Emotional intelligence is a very important skill in leadership. It is said to have five main elements such as - self-awareness, self-regulation, motivation, empathy, and social skills.
