Abstract

A technique frequently used to extract compounds from complicated mixtures is column chromatography. Column chromatography, as opposed to planar chromatography, packs the stationary phase or polymer (resins) into a column. The packed stationary phase then is passed through the mobile phase toachieve separation. This division may serve analytical or preparatory purposes. Chromatography, which relies on the interaction of a stationary and a mobile phase, is a crucial method for purifying mixture components.
