      abstract = {In accordance with the objectives of Oman Vision 2040, sustainable development has a critical role to play in the growth and advancement of Oman's economy. Sustainable practices not only help in protecting the environment, but also aid in creating a more resilient and diversified economy. This paper evaluates the role of sustainable development in the Omani economy in the context of Oman Vision 2040. It examines the objectives of Oman Vision 2040, the importance of sustainable development for the economy, and the obstacles to be overcome in achieving these objectives. A comprehensive review of the relevant literature is conducted to identify the challenges and opportunities associated with sustainable development in the Omani economy. Additionally, the paper identifies the key drivers of economic growth in Oman and possible strategies to enhance the economy by capitalizing on the potential of sustainable development. Ultimately, it is concluded that sustainable development is essential for the future economic growth and development of Oman.},
