In this era of unparalleled global ramifications, the economy-environment trade-off has become a critical and demanding challenge as humanity grapples with the catastrophic effects of Climate Change. Global economic interconnectedness significantly impacts individual citizens' health and the economic, political, and social elements of States as they deal with Foreign Investors and other multinational firms in their quest for cross-border investments. With the advent of the multipolar world economic system, international investment law has become more complex, as evidenced by increased interaction between Host States and Foreign Investors, complicating with other international norms such as international environmental law and international investment state arbitration, rendering the precepts and practices of common good on Climate Change opaque.
