Abstract

This study examines the legal and ethical frameworks surrounding cosmetic surgery in various countries, including the US, the UK, Australia, and South Korea. It analyzes relevant laws, guidelines, and ethical principles to identify the strengths and weaknesses of the regulations. This research also explores patient rights and ethical issues in cosmetic surgery, focusing on informed consent, advertising, and professional ethics. It uses a qualitative approach to analyze legal documents, academic publications, and professional directives. The findings reveal variations in regulations across countries and highlight challenges, such as weak oversight and ethical concerns. The study also discusses trends in cosmetic surgery, such as the rise of minimally invasive procedures and the globalization of beauty standards. Overall, this research improves understanding of the complex medico-legal landscape of cosmetic surgery and offers valuable insights for policymakers, healthcare providers, and patients.
