The potential of groundnut husk for phenol adsorption from aqueous solution and soil was studied. Solvents absorption set up was used, direct photoelectric method of analysis were carried out under varying experimental conditions of contact time, phenol concentration, adsorbent dose. The sample was washed with hexane (1:1v/v) in other to remove lipid fraction mixture was shaken and centrifuge at 400rpm 15min. The phenolic compound content in each extract was evaluated by spectrophotometric using Follin-Ciocateue method (Piotor, et.al 2019. Rosa. 2017). A comparative study showed that groundnut husk is very effective for phenol removal. These studies showed that the groundnut husk can be used as an efficient adsorbent material for removal of phenolic from water and soil.
