Generative AI and Agentic Augmentation: Transforming Human-Machine Collaboration

Anant Mittal

Subject area: Science,Engineering and Technology  ·  Area of research: Artificial intelligence

Abstract

Generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI) has ushered in a new era of human-machine collaboration through agentic augmentation, enabling systems to act autonomously and adaptively in complex environments. This paper explores the principles, applications, and implications of GenAI-driven agentic systems, focusing on their ability to enhance human capabilities while addressing ethical and technical challenges. We propose a conceptual framework for agentic augmentation, supported by a diagram illustrating the interaction between GenAI components and human oversight. The findings highlight the transformative potential of these systems in domains such as healthcare, education, and creative industries, while emphasizing the need for robust governance to mitigate risks.
