The latest expansion of AI media provides an entirely new set of hurdles to digital forensic investigations. This paper will discuss the challenges of analyzing and verifying AI media from a digital forensic point of view. By discussing how different forms of AI techniques and tools are used to create media, this research examines the complexity of differentiating authentic from unauthentic content. Additionally, it discusses the implications of AI-generated media on the authenticity of digital evidence presented in court and what it means for the court process. Utilizing case studies and methods, this research also offers strategies and approaches to navigating the challenges of AI-generated media within the field of digital forensics. By understanding the challenges presented by AI-generated media, forensic users can improve their ability to detect and account for AI-generated content when determining reliability and authenticity when considering digital evidence in an AI-dominated world.
