The study was carried out to investigate the effect of organizational citizenship behaviour on the Performance of selected Deposit Money Banks (DMBs) in Nigeria. The study specifically examined the effect of altruism, courtesy, conscientiousness, civic virtue and sportsmanship on the Performance of selected deposit money banks in Nigeria. The study adopted a survey research design and a five-point Likert type scale close-ended questionnaire was used for data collection. The population of the study included 272 staff of four deposit money banks namely, First Bank of Nigeria Plc, United Bank for Africa, Guaranty Trust Bank Plc and Zenith Bank Plc and a census sampling approach was used. Correlation and regression coefficients were used for data analysis and test of hypotheses with the aid of the Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS version 23). Findings of the study indicated that altruism, courtesy, conscientiousness, civic virtue and sportsmanship have positive and significant effect on the Performance of selected deposit money banks in Nigeria. The study concluded that citizenship behaviours exhibited by employees of banks have greatly enhanced the Performance of deposit money banks in Nigeria. The study recommended amongst others that management of deposit money banks in Nigeria should sensitize employees to exhibit courteous behaviors by instituting relevant policies, trainings and group discussions for both old and newly recruited employees.
