This study presents the development and design of a multipurpose car park using both rigid pavement and modern interlocking pavement systems, with the Unizik-Ifite Park as a case study. Key elements include Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA), land surveying, geotechnical soil analysis, and architectural modeling. Findings indicate that due to poor subgrade conditions i.e. low CBR Ratio values (California Bearing Ratio), rigid pavements require significant subgrade treatment, while interlocking pavements are more economically viable due to their adaptability and lower base preparation requirements. The study concludes with design recommendations that emphasize durability, economic viability, effective drainage, proper surface markings, and lighting to enhance safety and functionality.
