Diabetes mellitus is one of the major health problems worldwide and a principal cause of death in developing countries especially Nigeria. It is characterized by persistent hyperglycemia due to insulin deficiency or insulin resistance, leading to various complications that can significantly impact the quality of life of affected individuals. The study aimed to assess the level of knowledge, attitude and perception of diabetes mellitus among outpatients attending clinic in Faith Mediplex Hospital. Through a comprehensive investigation, the research examined the extent to which patients understand the disease, their attitude towards its management and their overall perception of its impact on their health and lives. A descriptive cross-sectional research design was used for the study. Taro Yamane’s formula was used to get a sample size of 123 from the target population and purposive sampling technique method was used as the sampling technique. The findings will shed light on potential gaps in diabetes education and awareness, as well as the influence of attitudes and perceptions on patients' self-care behaviours and overall well-being. The implications of the study will contribute to enhancing diabetes education strategies, fostering positive attitudes, and promoting effective management practices among diabetes mellitus patients in the specified hospital and beyond
