Rafaella Stradella

Subject area: Management and Commerce  ·  Area of research: Humanities

Abstract

As globalization accelerates, companies engaging in cross-border transactions face increasingly complex legal challenges. International Business Law (IBL) plays a critical role in managing contractual risks, ensuring regulatory compliance, and resolving disputes in a diverse legal environment. This article analyzes key practical cases involving international contracts, regulatory enforcement, intellectual property, and cross-border mergers and acquisitions to illustrate how legal strategy impacts global business operations. Through real-world examples such as the Siemens FCPA case and the GE-Honeywell merger, the article provides actionable guidance for companies seeking to expand internationally. Emphasis is placed on proactive legal planning, compliance programs, and the strategic use of arbitration and mediation mechanisms to mitigate legal and operational risks.
