Abstract

The physico-chemical conditions of water play a crucial role in maintaining the health and productivity of wetland ecosystems. In this context, various physico-chemical parameters of Anar Kali Lake were studied from January 2019 to December 2019 to assess their impact on fish food production. Key parameters such as temperature, transparency, pH, dissolved oxygen, free carbon dioxide, total alkalinity, total hardness, nitrates, and phosphates fluctuated within ranges favorable for high biological productivity. A total of 20 species of zooplankton were recorded during the study period. The seasonal variation of plankton exhibited a bimodal pattern, with a primary peak observed in July and a secondary peak in January. Overall, the physico-chemical and biological conditions of Anar Kali Lake were found to be suitable for fish culture.
