The Gaza-Israel conflict remains one of the longest-running and most contentious issues in contemporary international relations. It has often been characterized by repeated outbreaks of violence, entrenched political animosities and significant humanitarian crises. This paper provides a modern evaluation of war crimes and unlawful acts perpetrated by both governmental and non-governmental entities, with particular emphasis on military campaigns in the 21st century and recent confrontations from 2023 to 2025. Utilizing international legal instruments such as the Geneva Conventions, the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court (ICC), and norms of customary international law, the study explores reported breaches, including attacks on civilian populations, excessive use of military force, indiscriminate shelling, and interference with humanitarian operations. Through an interdisciplinary approach that incorporates legal scholarship, political analysis, and media perspectives, the paper investigates the difficulties in assigning culpability, achieving justice, and confronting the politicization of international legal processes. Furthermore, it discusses the obstacles international institutions face in holding perpetrators accountable and examines the moral questions posed by asymmetric warfare. The study concludes by calling for more robust global contexts to uphold accountability and safeguard non-combatants, stressing the pressing necessity for a fair and lawful resolution grounded in both legal and ethical imperatives.
