SAP: The Key to Enterprise Digital Transformation
Subject area: Science,Engineering and Technology · Area of research: Technology
Abstract
Digital transformation (DT) has become a strategic imperative for organizations seeking to remain competitive in rapidly evolving markets. Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems, particularly SAP?s S/4HANA platform, play a critical role in enabling this transformation by integrating processes, enhancing data visibility, and enabling real-time decision-making. This paper presents an integrative literature review exploring SAP as a catalyst for DT, examining its architectural features, organizational enablers, and implementation patterns. The findings indicate that while SAP offers significant potential for operational efficiency, agility, and strategic innovation, the realization of these benefits depends on governance, change management, and capability development. Practical implications and future research directions are also discussed.
