The integration of digital workflows in prosthetic dentistry represents the major transformation in the immediate prosthetic rehabilitation practice. Digital imaging, design, and manufacturing methods coupled with intraoral scanning help clinicians reduce the treatment time by simplifying the treatment protocols while increasing the precision and aesthetics of prostheses. From this standpoint, immediate prosthetic rehabilitation, especially in the form of implant-based rehabilitation, tends to be on the fast-track side, offering outcomes which are much more predictable. This article lays out the different current digital technologies in immediate prosthetic rehabilitation, explains clinical protocols, and evaluates the merits and demerits of full digital workflow vis-à-vis conventional methods. Further, it elucidates how digital planning greatly contributes toward patient satisfaction and the efficiency of treatment.
