Abstract

This review examines the application of digital technologies and telemonitoring platforms in respiratory physiotherapy for critically ill patients, focusing on inspiratory muscle training devices and remote monitoring systems. It highlights the evolution of tele-rehabilitation, integration of wearable sensors, and digital health platforms that support continuous assessment and management of respiratory function outside hospital settings. Emphasizing recent advancements aligned with curricula such as those offered by Harvard Medical School, the article discusses how these technologies enhance patient adherence, improve clinical outcomes, and facilitate personalized care while addressing challenges related to accessibility and data privacy. The convergence of technology and clinical practice is shown to be pivotal in modern respiratory physiotherapy.
