Abstract

This study examined the impact of broadband internet connectivity and the deployment of ICT platforms on service delivery within the Federal Civil Service Commission (FCSC). Specifically, it assessed the extent to which broadband implementation influences service efficiency and how ICT platforms affect the timeliness of administrative operations. A survey research design was employed, targeting 400 respondents drawn from a population of 615 staff, using Taro Yamane?s formula for sample determination. Primary data were collected through structured questionnaires, while secondary data were sourced from journals, books, government reports, and online repositories. Data analysis was conducted using SPSS version 25, applying both descriptive and inferential statistics such as Chi-square and regression tests at a 5% significance level. The findings revealed a significant positive relationship between broadband connectivity and service efficiency, as departments with reliable internet experienced faster workflows and improved communication. Similarly, ICT platforms were shown to significantly enhance the timeliness of administrative operations, particularly in recruitment, promotions, and records management. The study concludes that broadband and ICT platform adoption are critical enablers of efficiency and timeliness in public service delivery. It recommends continuous investment in ICT infrastructure and staff training to sustain digital transformation in the FCSC.
