Abstract

Artificial Intelligence (AI) has achieved remarkable advancements in generating music, art, literature, and problem-solving outputs that appear creative. However, whether AI can possess true creativity remains a philosophical and cognitive debate. This paper explores the concept of creativity from philosophical, psychological, and computational viewpoints. It examines existing research on AI’s generative capabilities, compares machine creativity with human creativity, and evaluates whether creativity requires consciousness, intention, or emotional experience. The study concludes that while AI can simulate creativity through pattern recognition and recombination, true creativity—grounded in subjective experience and intrinsic meaning—still remains uniquely human. Future work may explore hybrid human-AI creativity and the role of emotional modeling in machines.
