This study investigated the psychological effects of insecurity on students? academic performance in Taraba state, Nigeria. The study adopted the descriptive and survey design for analysis. Three hundred questionnaires were administered to respondents using the purposive sampling technique. The data collection instrument was a well-structured questionnaire, and the data collected was analyzed using the SPSS software. From the Chi-square result, it was revealed that post-traumatic stress disorder has a significant effect on students? academic performance in Taraba; bad thinking processes have a significant effect on students? academic performance in Taraba, and frustration has a significant effect on students? academic performance in Taraba state. The study recommended that the federal government should provide adequate security in the insurgency-ravaged areas of the country to enhance students? academic performance. The management of schools in Taraba state should be more security-conscious, among other precautions.
