Sociological Study on Inter-Caste and Interreligious Marriage with Special Reference State Utter Pradesh
Abstract
This research investigates the social elements of inter-caste and interreligious marriages, with a special emphasis on Uttar Pradesh, India. These couplings, which are frequently perceived as defying traditional societal standards, call into question India's deeply ingrained caste and religious barriers. The study examines the cultural, social, legal, and economic features of these marriages in order to better understand the circumstances that have contributed to their rise, the obstacles that couples encounter, and the impact on society. The study uses historical, sociological, and contemporary perspectives to provide a comprehensive examination of inter-caste and interreligious marriages in the socio-cultural environment of Uttar Pradesh. Marriage is a social institution that binds a man and a woman via a set of mutual rights and duties that are necessary for a family to function. It acts as a formal link, creating legal, economic, and emotional ties between two people. The term inter-caste refers to relationships between people from various castes, and an inter-caste marriage occurs when people from different caste groups marry. The term "interreligious" refers to partnerships between persons from various religious backgrounds. Interfaith weddings are centered on the people involved, regardless of their religious identity.
