Abstract
Artificial Intelligence (AI) has emerged as one of the most transformative technologies in the field of higher education. In Tamil Nadu, colleges and universities are increasingly adopting AI-based tools and technologies to improve teaching, learning, administration, research, and student support services. AI applications such as virtual learning platforms, chatbots, automated assessment systems, predictive analytics, and personalized learning environments are changing the educational landscape. Tamil Nadu, known for its strong educational infrastructure, has become one of the leading states in India in integrating digital technologies into higher education. The present article discusses the role, benefits, challenges, statistical trends, and future prospects of Artificial Intelligence in higher education institutions in Tamil Nadu.
