Abstract

This study investigates the role of the Indian Knowledge System (IKS) in the twenty-first century, organizations worldwide face escalating ethical quandaries, leadership crises, and governance issues as a result of globalization and rapid technological progress. This study looks at how the Indian Knowledge System (IKS) may promote ethical leadership and develop corporate governance frameworks in modern enterprises. Drawing on ancient Indian writings such as the Vedas, Upanishads, Bhagavad Gita, and Arthashastra, the article discusses how values such as Dharma (righteousness), Satya (truth), Seva (service), and Lokasangraha (community welfare) might be applied to leadership and organizational management. Integrating these values promotes transparency, accountability, and moral conscience in corporate decision-making. Furthermore, the study underlines that adopting IKS concepts into management education and governance policies is consistent with the goal of the National Education Policy 2020, which supports ethical, holistic, and culturally based learning. Organizations may build sustainable, accountable, and value-driven leadership practices that are appropriate for the ethical demands of the twenty-first century corporate environment by combining traditional Indian wisdom with modern governance methods.
