Abstract

The banking sector plays a vital role in the economic growth and financial stability of a country. This study analyzes the financial performance of the top 10 banks in India over a five-year period (2021–2025). The main objective is to compare the financial performance of these banks using key financial indicators and ratio analysis. The study evaluates profitability, liquidity, solvency, operational efficiency, and capital adequacy to assess the overall financial health of the selected banks. The research is based on secondary data collected from the annual reports and published financial statements of the selected banks. Statistical tools such as ratio analysis and ANOVA are used to analyze and compare the financial performance of the banks. The findings help identify the strengths and weaknesses of each bank and provide insights into their financial stability and operational efficiency. The study is useful for investors, bank management, policymakers, researchers, and customers in understanding the financial position and performance of leading Indian banks. It also offers suggestions for improving financial performance and supports informed decision-making in the banking sector.
