Abstract

Product packaging serves as a critical interface between a brand and its consumers, functioning not only as a protective barrier but also as a powerful marketing tool. This study investigates the impact of various product packaging elements—such as visual design, structural utility, material quality, and environmental sustainability—on overall customer satisfaction. The research aims to identify which specific packaging attributes most strongly influence consumer buying behavior and post-purchase satisfaction. The study follows a descriptive research design and uses both primary and secondary data. Primary data were collected through a structured questionnaire administered to 100 retail consumers using a five-point Likert scale, while secondary information was obtained from books, research articles, journals, and company reports. The collected data were analysed using percentage analysis and presented through tables and charts to understand consumer opinions regarding packaging functionality and aesthetics. The findings indicate that visual attributes, including color aesthetics and typography, play a major role in initial attraction, whereas functional aspects like ease of opening, product protection, and clear labeling directly drive long-term customer satisfaction and repeat purchase intent. Furthermore, a growing segment of consumers demonstrated a strong preference for sustainable and eco-friendly packaging materials. The study concludes that optimized packaging design—balancing aesthetic appeal with practical functionality and sustainability—significantly enhances consumer trust and overall brand perception. These insights provide useful guidelines for marketers in designing customer-oriented packaging strategies and improving customer engagement and long-term loyalty.
