Abstract

The increasing demand for fuel-efficient high-speed marine transportation has intensified research into hull-form optimization, energy-saving appendages and computational hydrodynamic design (Bertram, 2012). Offshore surfer vessels, fast crew suppliers, patrol boats and other semi-displacement or high-speed displacement craft often operate under demanding conditions where speed, trim, resistance, seakeeping, operational safety and fuel economy are simultaneously important (Yang & Huang, 2016).
