Empowering Youth Through Social Innovation for Building Resilient Futures: An Empirical Study of the Nethakani Community in Telangana

Abstract
The Nethakani community in Telangana, recognized for its traditional artisanal and occupational practices, faces challenges in adapting to a rapidly changing socio-economic environment. Despite the potential of its youth, they remain underutilized due to limited access to education, employment opportunities, and modern resources. In this context, social innovationdefined as creative and sustainable solutions to societal challengescan play a significant role in empowering the youth and fostering sustainable development. This study explores how social innovation can serve as a catalyst for youth empowerment in the Nethakani community, focusing on skill development, economic opportunities, and overall community well-being. It examinesvarious initiatives that combine traditional knowledge with modern innovation to improve the socio-economic conditions of the youth, aiming to identify strategies that enhance resilience while preserving cultural heritage. The research highlights that targeted social innovation programs can improve educational access, promote entrepreneurship, and foster active community participation. It emphasizes the importance of collaboration among local stakeholders, government agencies, and NGOs to establish sustainable models of empowerment. The findings suggest that social innovation offers significant potential to bridge the gap between traditional practices and contemporary opportunities, ensuring a brighter future for the Nethakani youth. This study contributes to the broader conversation on social innovation, youth empowerment, and community resilience, offering insights that can be applied to similar rural communities across India. By empowering youth through innovative solutions, the Nethakani community can revitalize its socio-economic fabric and build a sustainable, inclusive future.
