Abstract

AI has permeated all facets of life, society and economy. This article purports to evaluate the role of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in the Indian Healthcare landscape with particular reference to geriatric healthcare. The paper focuses on the silver divide and the scope it offers for health care providers who can leverage a growing elderly care segment. The study also presents the current AI based interventions in the health care for the aged and their alignment to the relevant sustainable development goals. The strategic opportunities offered by the silver economy, funding support from government and private players, governmental interventions and the regulatory framework along with ethical considerations are also discussed in this paper.
