Abstract
Educational research begins with curiosity, but it gains true value when guided by a clear and systematic methodology. This paper presents a structured and comprehensive understanding of research methodology in education and explains how it transforms simple questions into meaningful academic insights. The study is conceptual and descriptive in nature and is based on the review of standard textbooks, scholarly articles, and recent research studies in the fields of education and social sciences. The paper discusses major approaches used in educational research, including quantitative, qualitative, and mixed methods designs. It explains key stages such as identifying a research problem, reviewing existing literature, framing objectives and hypotheses, selecting appropriate research designs, choosing suitable sampling techniques, collecting data through reliable tools, and applying proper methods of data analysis. Special emphasis is given to ethical responsibilities such as informed consent, confidentiality, transparency, and academic integrity. The discussion highlights that a well-planned methodology enhances the accuracy, reliability, and credibility of research findings. It supports evidence-based teaching practices, informed decision-making, and effective educational policy development. The study concludes that research methodology is not merely a technical process but a guiding framework that connects inquiry with insight, ensuring that educational research remains systematic, meaningful, and socially relevant.
