Abstract

The Smart train meant for self controlled and to follow the track side signals. The current procedure is manual monitoring of track side signals and operating the train, this method is prone to human mistakes results in accidents. To eliminate human errors the system is built in away that automates and monitoring the train through track side signals and controls train. This system employs IR Signal Communication from track side signal reduces speed at yellow and moves on the green signal signals to the train module, such that it stops at red post. Moreover, the model of train designed here is pantograph free and battery operated. A rechargeable battery operated and battery is charged when the train is halted due to red signal. It is positioned towards the power transmitting coil by which the battery gets energy through power receiving coil. The power transmitting coil arranged between the track at halted points and where as power receiving coil arranged to the train module. A digital Voltmeter is used in the train module to find whether the battery is charging or not.
