This paper examines the design and implementation of cloud-native, container-orchestrated platforms using Kubernetes and elastic auto-scaling models. As organizations increasingly shift to cloud environments, the need for scalable, resilient, and efficient application infrastructures has become paramount. Kubernetes, a leading container orchestration platform, automates the deployment, management, and scaling of containerized applications, offering substantial benefits in terms of operational efficiency and resource optimization. Elastic auto-scaling, a critical feature of cloud-native architectures, ensures that computing resources can dynamically adjust in response to real-time demand, enhancing both performance and cost-efficiency. The paper outlines the principles of cloud-native design, the capabilities of Kubernetes in container orchestration, and the mechanisms of elastic scaling that enable cloud systems to handle fluctuations in workload effectively. Furthermore, it highlights best practices for Kubernetes configuration and scaling strategies to optimize performance, cost, and resource allocation. The findings of this study provide valuable insights into the transformative potential of Kubernetes and elastic scaling for building agile, high-performing cloud-native platforms. This paper contributes to the ongoing evolution of cloud infrastructure practices and sets the stage for future research into advanced automation, cost management, and the integration of emerging technologies like edge computing.
