Traduction Commentée Anglais-Français Des Extraits De “The Debt Crisis in Asia: Lessons from The 1997-98 Financial Crisis” De Lee Jong Wha
Abstract
This paper presents an English-French translation of Extracts from Lee Jong-Wha's article ‘’ The Debt Crisis in Asia: Lessons from the 1997-98 Financial Crisis” . It is targeted at analyzing the translation techniques adopted in translating the economic discourse from English to French, while maintaining terminological precision and clarity of the specialized message. The translation of this text reveals the difficulties in the transposition of macroeconomic concepts , in the choice of technical register and the balance between literality and dynamic equivalence. Leaning on Vinay and Darbelnet's, Nida's and Newmark's theories, the study shows how the translator becomes a mediator between two distinct scientific communities. The work thus contributes to the authentication of specialized translation as a tool for spreading economic knowledge globally.
